Since I just wrote the review for the Red Electra, it
would be a sin not to write the reviews for both the
Electra and the Essencia, so here I am with the first
one.
Years ago, while looking for some dessert wines, I came
across two interesting releases, both being Orange Muscats
from the same firm, but with different strengths, so I
picked up both.
Electra (what a name for a wine folks), is the less
alcoholic of the two, and has a very upbeat zest to it,
that in some ways reminds you of a carbonated drink, but in
a wine, though too heavy/viscuous to be mistaken for a
sparkling wine. Upon drinking it, the wine itself flowed
like silk on my tongue, and had the most wonderful orange
flavoring to it; for those of you that don't know, I really
don't like oranges at all. However, this wine had
something special and unique to it, though it is challenged
by its bigger sister, the Essencia.
Summarily, Electra is a perfect wine for occasions that
don't involve pairing it with a heavy meal. It's perfect
for fruit, salads (maybe even with meat, seafood or poultry
in them), or as an after dinner drink, or even better
paired with desserts, including chocolate.
